Geez, when are programmers going to learn to write a function that replaces Nan with some variant of Random(low, high)?

I've always found the problem with other distributions of Linux to be the lack of a Start button. That's why I use Microsoft Linux.

The newspaper headline could be taken two ways.
1) Windows Server running in a VM or emulator on Linux is more reliable than Windows Server natively.
2) Windows Server natively is more reliable than Linux natively.

Also, I believe it is possible to run KDE or GNOME on Windows. The ease-of-use of Linux combined with the reliability of Windows! What are you waiting for!

Cows will learn to fly before Linux could do all the stuff windows actually do.
I've recently tried several linux versions, and not only they were almost everyone the same crap, but they also lack a lot of software. In fact, they all offer the same sofware packages. Just try to find a Sony Vegas replacement for Linux. (good luck)

Linux may be a better OS than any windows, but in practice it's hardly a choice when it comes to software.

Somebody wanna start another Open vs. Closed source software fight?

I think you only get that interpretation of Christianity when you divide what most consider to be "legitimate" Christianity by zero. Kind of like NaN, but with more words.

I'm not sure if it amazes me more that there is actually something in a weather program that would be dividing values to get temperature (most likely is a bad reference to data), or that there are still people who have uninformed stereotypes about <insert often misunderstood religion of your choice here>.

(Incidentally, I think that x/0 where x<>0 should be undefined, but 0/0 should legitimately be "any suitable number"; if we define y as the number such that x = y*0, then we see that if x is nonzero there is no suitable number to make the equality, but if x is zero then any number will do. This is, of course, only in the realm of absolutes, not limits, which have neat properties (lim{x->0} (sin(x)/x) is a personal favorite for instance).)

Real Christianity relieves guilt and fear (the proto-Christian apostle Paul was NOT a timid guy--see Gal 5:12 ;) ). If you limit sanity to relying only upon reason, leaving no room for the addition of faith, then Christians are indeed insane.

Um, is TRWTF the fact that everyone so far seems to think that The Highly Reliable Times is A REAL NEWSPAPER?

In the tradition of explaining the blindingly obvious: it's a "focus group" style question, asking "If you got this as a handout at the next Microsoft developer shindig, would it give you the warm fuzzies about Microsoft?"

That so many people, who by their presence on this forum can be *assumed* to be intelligent, are totally fooled... well, I guess Microsoft can start the presses rolling.

Linux is crap, open source software is a ridiculous idea, the highly reliable times is a real newspaper (you trolls, still talking and no one googled it out yet), and the ones who should be in HRT are the christians.
I feel pity for you, people. Specially the ones who still talk about linux as a real option before Windows, the true reliable operating system (even better as server than as client).
